Since 1999, we've been in the business of making people's unmentionables mentionable – And there's nobody better. We train all our Waxers in the same proprietary style of waxing that's kept people coming to our havens of hairlessness for decades. Our tools are sourced from the same suppliers & wholesalers that we've been loyal to for generations. And if we can't find something that meets our standards, we make it. Our Post Wax + In-Grown Ointment is a perfect example.

Originally developed by a Cosmeceutical Chemist to help speed the healing process and reduce scarring from severe burns, but never brought to market. We bought it, tweaked it, and spent years getting real-time feedback from our clients of all ages, ethnicities & skin types.

Now, countless people use it every day to help fight in-growns, blemishes & breakouts. But one of the the coolest things we do these days is put women in their own business. That's where you come in, literally. You see, when you get waxed at one of our Tiny Shops, you'll be building a small business. Previously known as Elegance Spa we decided 2021 was the perfect time to refresh our brand, our services and our treatment spaces. Offering the very best in facials, peels, brows, lash extensions and body hair removal... Introducing MB SKIN SPA!

We are experienced, professional, beauty experts bringing the very best in skin treatments, medical grade peels, brow shaping, lash extensions, organic spray tanning and body hair removal to North Manhattan Beach. 

The spa has recently been refreshed with new paint, floors, lighting + decor -  a calming and modern palette of cream, taupe, gold + green, live plants and a boho chic vibe. We have air purifiers within treatment rooms and are diligent with our sanitation practices (we always were). As a staff we are fully vaccinated and wear masks during service. When you arrive to the spa, be sure to wear your mask and stay home if you aren't feeling well.

ABOUT GRETCHEN & MEGAN
We started Sand Spa because we knew firsthand the many benefits of massage treatments. As collegiate basketball players, we used massage regularly to treat ailments, improve mobility and prolong the longevity of our playing careers. We found that massage not only made our bodies feel better physically, we experienced how it helped us manage stress, get a better night’s sleep and improve our overall mental well-being.

As athletes, we had access to  regular massage treatments. In the real world, lavish, expensive, and sometimes-lengthy spa visits aren’t ideal for anybody dealing with life’s day-to- day challenges. We set out to create a place for the everyday person to experience high quality spa services at affordable prices on a more frequent basis. DANIEL MORENO
Daniel is a local boy, born and raised in Inglewood with barbering in his blood.

He started right out of high school following in his Grandfather’s footsteps who had a barbershop in Mexico City.

Daniel loves giving a nice hot towel, straight-razor shave and a gentleman’s scissor cut whenever he can. So much so that he gives back to his community and the country the best way he knows how, by cutting Veterans' hair on his days off.

JOSHUA HAYNESWORTH-POLEN
Josh is the rare LA Native. He spent some time in SF but LA is coursing through his veins.

He was always so picky about his haircuts when it was his time in the chair so he decided to master the craft and get behind the chair himself.

You can tell how much he loves being a barber by how much he loves giving his signature mullet! Always smiling, always enjoying cutting. He is a world class barber and we’re proud to have him on our team!

NICKY YANCHUN
Nicky has been around since the inception of Svelte, but found interest in barbering over 10 years ago.

While hanging out in a barbershop his older brother Timmy owned in Boston where they grew up, he realized all of the barbers there were having fun while making money. Always a creative, Nicky took to it instantly.

He flexes his artistic ability on every haircut and will tell you in great detail the love he has for timeless natural haircuts and his 1970 Honda Goldwing motorcycle.

MIGUEL MARTINEZ
Miguel is born and raised in Los Angeles.

He started cutting hair over 6 years ago because he loves the lifestyle that comes with it and has always been a creative person. When he’s not cutting hair he’s messing around with old cars, hitting up Rockabilly concerts and just genuinely enjoying life.

TIMMY YANCHUN
Timmy is kind of the Mr. Miyagi around Svelte.

Not just because he’s older than all of us, but because he’s been cutting hair since he was 12 and has been opening/operating shops since he was 18. He’s got 6 barbershops under his belt from Boston where he grew up, to Beverly Hills, and now Svelte.

His experience and barber knowledge runs through every strand of Svelte’s DNA and it all stems from the very reason he started Svelte in the first place; the idea that the only thing standing between a man and him feeling and looking his best is information.

DAN BROADLEY
Dan is not a barber, even though he wishes he was so he could stop getting razzed at company parties.

He’s a regular guy who realized that barbers speak a different language than their clients and that language barrier has always been the problem with men’s grooming. He saw early on that if you want to make mens grooming effortless for normal guys, you have to be able to translate a barbers knowledge into palatable information.

Thanks to Dan’s translation we can be the informative, trustworthy grooming brand we are today.

There is parking across the street at the City lot on Highland that is just North of us, and we made a deal with the lot on Rosecrans to provide 2 hours of parking for $2, which will be App-based and super easy.
